TREATMENT OF PIGMENTATION
Pigmentation is a very common skin condition occurring due to increased production of the pigment melanin, which is responsible for skin colour. Chemical peeling is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment in which a combination of various agents are used which help in removal of the superficial dead layer of skin and help in achieving smoother, uniform skin. It also helps in rejuvenation and provides a uniform skin tone. Chemical peels are very helpful in reducing acne spots, tanning and uneven pigmentation over face or body.
Lasers are also helpful in the treatment of pigmentation. They target melanin cells in the skin and burst them, which is then removed by the cells of our immune system. These are also helpful in the treatment of freckles.
Apart from creams and treatment, lifestyle modification also plays a very important role in preventing pigmentation. Sunscreen must be used on a regular basis on face and body, to prevent tanning.
